SUMMARY

The Federation of Sports and Play Associations (FSPA) is a national trade body responsible for the representation of 14 associations and around 500 member companies within the sports and play industries. Now that’s an awful lot of people to look after. Essentially, they act as the voice of sport and play within the UK, working in partnership with the Government and other governing bodies to promote exercise and the importance of play.

WHAT WE DID

They look after a number of associations, like API, BASES, SPE and BGIA, which our team has worked with in the past – but this time they got in touch with us directly. The FSPA wanted to deliver social media training to their members, so they asked us to come in and run a full-day workshop with a number of member companies. Our main challenge was working with so many levels of proficiency, but then that certainly made things more interesting. We created bespoke plans that suited different causes down to a T, which were designed to help get their message out there.

In conjunction with this, the FSPA also wanted us to do training with the associations’ managers, which are employed by the FSPA. We did all sorts of things for this one – mentoring, one to ones, group training, phone consultations, you name it. We also gave them the tools they needed to start themselves off, like action plans for their social media. They also got a handy take-home handbook which contains all the tips and tricks needed to show off their best – all tailor-made to the different social media platforms. Think of it a bit like a mini marketing Bible…
